TechVPN — Fast & Secure VPN

TechVPN is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. It applies to the TechVPN iOS app, Android app, and browser extension (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge).
1. Data We Collect
We collect as little data as possible.
All Platforms
- Device Identifier: A randomly generated UUID stored on your device. Used solely to manage your VPN connection. This ID is not linked to your identity.
- Connection Metadata: Timestamp of connection, assigned VPN IP address, and device platform. Used for server management and abuse prevention. Not stored after disconnection.
- Bandwidth Usage: We track the amount of data transferred (bytes in/out) per device to enforce free tier limits. We do not inspect the content of this data.
Browser Extension (Optional Account)
- Email Address: If you create an account (for premium or license key activation), we store your email address. Used for authentication via magic link (passwordless sign-in) and account management.
- IP Address: Your IP address is temporarily used for abuse prevention (rate limiting, quota enforcement). It is not stored permanently or used for tracking.
2. Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not log your browsing activity, DNS queries, or traffic content.
- We do not collect your real IP address for tracking purposes.
- We do not sell, share, or monetize any user data.
- We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising trackers, or third-party data brokers.
- We do not store passwords — authentication uses magic links (one-time email links).
3. VPN Connection
TechVPN uses the WireGuard protocol on all platforms. When connected:
- Your internet traffic is encrypted end-to-end and routed through our servers.
- We do not inspect, log, or store the content of your traffic.
- Connection sessions are not stored after disconnection.
- DNS queries are resolved on our servers (DNS leak protection).
4. Payments
iOS App
- Payments are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment information.
- We receive a transaction identifier and subscription status from Apple to activate premium features.
Browser Extension
- Cryptocurrency (USDT TRC-20): Payments are processed on the Tron blockchain. We generate a unique one-time wallet address for each payment. We do not store your wallet address or transaction history beyond what is necessary to verify payment completion.
- License Keys: Pre-generated keys that activate premium. Keys are stored as SHA-256 hashes — we cannot recover the original key from our database.
- We do not collect or store credit card numbers, bank account details, or other financial information.
5. Data Storage & Security
- iOS: Device ID is stored securely using the iOS Keychain.
- Browser Extension: Device ID and settings are stored in the browser's extension storage (chrome.storage).
- Server-side data is stored in an encrypted PostgreSQL database hosted in Germany (Hetzner).
- All communication between clients and our servers uses TLS (HTTPS/WSS) encryption.
- Authentication tokens (JWT) are signed with HS256 and expire after 30 days.
6. Data Retention
- VPN connection logs: Not stored (zero-log policy).
- Device identifiers: Retained while the device is active. Inactive devices are cleaned up periodically.
- Email accounts: Retained until you request deletion or sign out.
- Payment records: Retained for 2 years for tax and legal compliance.
- Bandwidth usage: Reset monthly on the 1st of each month.

- Use the VPN without creating an account (free tier)
- Request a copy of data associated with your device or email
- Request deletion of all server-side data associated with your account
- Withdraw consent for data processing at any time

9. Children's Privacy
TechVPN is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. International Users
Our servers are located in Germany, United Kingdom, Japan, and the United States. By using TechVPN, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in these countries. We comply with applicable data protection regulations.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or extension.
